She began her nursing career in Maternal Child Nursing with eight years as a Charge Nurse in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery and Pediatrics at Dekalb BMC. She developed and managed the Lactation Program at her hospital and taught Prepared Childbirth Classes. In 1996 she became certified as an IBCLC and in 1999 went into private practice. Her love for breastfeeding developed through assisting moms during her years of working as an OB nurse, but the true passion came when she nursed her own children. The breastfeeding challenges of nursing with flat or inverted nipples have been her specialty since 1999 as she offers a solution to women with this delicate problem.
