QUESTION: I was wondering if I digested paint dust that might contain lead in it, would
it go into my breastmilk? I was helping my husband sand off old paint off a dresser and I
realized the paint could possible have lead in it. I helped sand off at least one drawer
with a electric sander that had two coats of old paint on it. I'm worried now that the
lead could be passed on to her through my breastmilk. I know that lead poisioning can be
serious, should I be concerned with it being passed to her? If it can what should I do?

Penny,
The short one time exposure you describe -- probably would not be a
problem to you or your baby.
If you are still concerned you can have you and your baby tested for lead levels and
that could put your mind at ease.
Good Luck
